The chiropteran research team of the Granollers Museum of Natural Science has been studying bats since the early eighties. First steps aimed to know about local species distribution and new species were found in Catalonia at the same time that new interesting data aroused regarding methodologies to study bats (Flaquer et al. 2005, 2006, 2007, 2010). All this enormous field work effort has been translated into a book entitled Catalonian Bats. The field Guide (Flaquer & Puig, 2012).
New goals of our research team involve implementing our knowledge on bat study into applied projects such as: pest control, improve human facilities adaptations to bats, avoid bats damages due to wrong study methodology and improve monitoring techniques.
